Mr Downie is a Clinical Lecturer at Glasgow University and an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. He is actively involved in both undergraduate and post graduate teaching and training.
He is a regular speaker at National and International conferences. Mr Downie has been involved in creating and running anatomy cadaveric dissection courses both in the UK and Globally.

He has developed the ‘layered’ approach to teaching anatomy of the head and neck to simplify the understanding of tissue planes and danger points.
