“THE ART OF ANATOMY”
Introducing: The 3rd Annual NAATO Event
In 2023 the Inaugural NAATO anatomy course took place at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd). This course brought together colleagues from both side of the Atlantic Ocean to share knowledge and make bonds of friendship. Our second course was delivered in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
We are delighted to announce details of the upcoming NAATO course returning to the RCSEd on June 6th and 7th 2025.
On Day 1, whilst the focus of the course will remain Head and Neck anatomy for Aesthetic Clinicians, for the first time we will be considering facial aesthetics from the perspective of the artist. In our Key Lectures artists will offer a novel view of the face and facial anatomy for clinicians combined with anatomical model building (always an enjoyable part of the teaching).
Given the rich medical and surgical history of Scotland we will also be including a lecture on the Historical perspective of anatomy and surgery delivered by a local historian. Colleagues who attended in 2023 will no doubt remember the lecture on “Bodysnatching”!!
On Day 2 it is into the laboratory for hands-on, inject and dissect, cadaveric anatomy teaching. Our experienced surgical faculty will take you from the basics of dissection technique through to the demonstration of all aspects of facial anatomy. We will see the predictable and unpredictable anatomy of the face and relate these to aesthetic medical practice.
They say that “Learning can be fun”. At NAATO we say “Learning MUST be fun”!
