From the offset when I came for my consultation for rhinoplasty surgery Mr Downie was very welcoming and extremely professional. He explained the procedure in simple easy to understand terms which put me at ease having a good understanding of the procedure, as well as any realistic risks and complications that can arise from having any type of surgery.

I am now roughly 9 months post rhinoplasty and there is no visible scaring or swelling to be seen. Mr Downie has been incredibly realistic throughout the whole process and has given me a rhinoplasty that is completely in keeping with my facial features for a very natural look.

I am very happy with the treatment given to me by Mr Downie and his team from my initial consultation to my post-operative check-up. Mr Downie listened to what my hopes and expectations were of the rhinoplasty surgery and discussed what could be achieved.

On operation day, Mr Downie was friendly and professional, settling all of my last minute nerves. Mr Downie provided me with the appropriate aftercare information and the results of my surgery were largely evident upon my six-week check-up. Both Mr Downie and myself were pleased with the outcome and the healing after six short weeks. Now nine-weeks on, I continue to see progress as my nose continues to heal and I am over the moon.

I was very nervous about my lower face lift; if I was to choose the wrong surgeon it could go horribly wrong, but I did my research and kept hearing Mr Downie’s name and excellent reputation.

Having had two Rhinoplasty procedures previously that had some defects, I put my trust into Mr Downie - who from our first consultation I immediately had a great feeling about. I am no longer insecure about my side profile which I have been since I can remember! My nose and previous rhinoplasty procedures had left me very insecure and I hated looking in the mirror. I am a little over 10 weeks post op and I am absolutely in love with results. I have so much more confidence and I can honestly say that this has reflected on my everyday life. Dr. Downie and his staff were absolutely amazing and I had great post op care - my recovery was a breeze considering I also had a skull graft to obtain the best results and correct the previous surgeries. I was absolutely delighted with everything Mr Downie did, from my initial consultation to the result now 3 months on. I am extremely happy and would highly recommend Mr Downie to anyone. I had no discomfort at all after the operation, just couldn’t see very well without my contact lenses in , but no pain and would do it again in a minute.

I opted to have orthodontic surgery following years of orthodontic treatment for a skeletal and dental class II malocclusion. In my teens I had orthodontic and removable appliances (Twin blocks) that were unsuccessful in fixing my malocclusion so I was told by my orthodontist that I would need surgery. Previous to surgery I was unable to chew correctly due to my misaligend jaws and from time to time suffered pain in my jaw joints so was determined to go through surgery to correct these functional issues.  My recovery was a lot easier than I had anticipated. During the first few days following surgery I was slightly uncomfortable due to the swelling, but that quickly subsided within the first week. Any pain I was in was manageable with the pain relief I had been prescribed and I was able to come off pain relief within 10 days of surgery. Within a few weeks I was back to eating regularly, the majority of my swelling had disappeared and I had regained all feeling in the nerves around my lower face and mouth. Yes the  Hilotherm unit was incredibly useful during my jaw surgery recovery. Its targeted cold therapy not only eased post surgical discomfort but also reduced my facial swelling which meant I was able to return to a more normal appearance quickly after surgery. I would highly recommend it for anyone undergoing similar procedures. The biggest improvement for me has been the balance in my facial profile. My jaws are now aligned so I am able to chew on both sides of my jaw! Following surgery I have significantly less gum show when smiling so I am delighted with the aesthetic improvement to my smile.

I love my results, one of my aims was to achieve a very natural shape close to my original nose but more perfected. As this was my first surgical procedure I was a little apprehensive and nervous at times, there was endless support, information and comfort given to me from start to finish. Over the last few years I have been attending  to see Mr Downie who was referred by another surgeon. I attended after having a cyst removed by the NHS, leaving me with a large scar and disformity to my cheek.
